In like a lion, out like a jackalope…you know how the weather is here…
March is upon us and what can I say? I am still reeling from our Galentine’s event about a week ago. Sometimes you try something new and you think “Let’s do that one more time and see how it goes.” Sometimes you try something new, stand back, and think “I cannot believe how great that was!” I took part primarily as a performer in that event, but the conversation and activities were a blast and the food was off the chain. Look out for this one next year!
The most interesting thing about this year, is that it is March and many of us are still talking about what an odd year 2020 was. Normally we reflect on the year prior for a minute in January and then press on to greater things. The first two months of 2021 have been devoted to that sort of reflection it seems. I do not think there is anything wrong with that, as long as we remember to move forward. Sure those cheescake bites at Galentine’s were awesome, but there is work to do Thomas…there is work to do.
SLHVC is definitely moving forward. We have fun activities planned from now through the 4th of July and some killer ideas that are still taking shape. Thank you for your continued support and for helping us test out new ideas like Galentine’s. Our method is not very scientific, but it appears to be getting results!
Here is what is coming to SLHVC:
3/9 @ 4pm Kid’s STEAM: Egg Drop Challenge. If you were a cool kid like me, you were in science club in high school and know all about the joys of the egg drop. Come join us as we take risks, and make messes in our attempt to shelter eggs from their imminent doom. My kids went to last month’s STEAM class, Leigha does a great job and the kids had a great time. Don’t miss it! Thanks to a grant from Black Hills Energy we are dropping our price for this class to $5 for non members and free for SLHVC members.
3/18 5:00pm- Our Annual banquet. Come celebrate the accomplishments of members of our community and bid on some great dessert items courtesy of Rustic Nook Bakery! Tickets are $25 and seating is limited!
